The Engine Room 2.0

The Engine Room 2.0 is live!

The Engine Room has recieved a much needed upgrade! Since 2017 we have been trying to define a direction to take The Engine Room.

At the onset, the site first started on Google Sites but we quickly realized that this was not only unscalable , but it could not support all of the data we needed to share. This led us to move the site to WIX in 2019 and at the time that seemed to be the next best iteration. However, like Google Sites we realized that WIX could again not support the direction we wanted to take the site. This journey has led us to the current iteration.

In order to scale the site and have full control of everything from content management to database structure, we have built the site from the ground up. The Engine Room has been built from scratch and is being hosted on its own web server. It is our hope that this will prove to be the best way to engage with our user base as well as scale the site as we grow. Of all of the changes to the site, here are a few highlights:

  • The age of the internet has allowed information to be shared readily, but sifting through  that information and being able to find it at a moments notice is more difficult than ever. The Engine Room is always on the lookout for information that can help you, but instead of sending it your ever-growing email, we want to store that  information in a central location. If we find helpful information for companies we will share it on our site and it will be archived here forever.
• Engine Room Requests📄
  • Do you have a request or need? We have now made it easier than ever to notify us of your need. Rather than have you copy the email, head over to your email, and craft up an entire email, we have circumvented the entire process. We have made a simple form on the site  for you to immediately notify us of a question/need/want. The request  will be sent to our team and you will also receive a reciept of your submission. 
• User Authentication & Permission System🔒
  • Privacy is a must these days! As we scale we hope to add a way for you to book equipment directly on The Engine Room and in order to make that possible a login infrastucture is a must. The site will be implementing this functionality so be aware that you will need to be logged in to the site to view certain information.
