Our Mission

The Harvard University Center for Nanoscale Systems is a comprehensive “nanotechnology eco-system” enabling world-class nanoscience research and development. As the New England node of the Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI), CNS is one of the most heavily used nanofabrication , characterization,and advanced imaging facilities in the world. With more than 1600 users annually, CNS forms an extremely synergistic dynamic research community. With its large, diverse user base, well-established user infrastructure, characterization tools, and advanced processing protocols, CNS is positioned to enable our users to be leaders driving world-class nanoscience and nanoengineering.


Facility Access Steps

  1. Complete the Application Form and write a proposal as requested on page two of the form. With the application attached, send an e-mail to [email protected] briefly describing your project, what facilities, tools, or processes are required, and any questions you may have regarding use of CNS facilities.
    • A CNS technical staff member will review your proposal and determine whether CNS has the capabilities and facilities to perform the project. They may contact you with any questions or concerns about your project.
  2. Upon CNS Project Approval, complete the following documents:

  5. Schedule and work with CNS to get trainined on equipment
